AirBnB Launches €100,000 Rural Tourism Fund For Local Communities Across Ireland

Airbnb has announced the launch of its new Rural Tourism Fund, a €100,000 initiative designed to support and celebrate rural communities across Ireland. The fund aims to empower local organisations to showcase the best of rural Ireland to both domestic and international visitors.

Airbnb is offering grants ranging from €1,000 to €10,000 to help bring community-led tourism projects to life. From expanding festivals and enhancing walking trails to commissioning public art and upgrading community facilities, the fund is open to a wide range of creative and impactful ideas.

Who Can Apply?

Airbnb welcomes applications from:

  • Community groups
  • Small businesses
  • Social enterprises
  • Cultural and heritage organisations

Eligible projects must be based in rural Ireland or contribute to rural tourism outside of Ireland’s major cities. Accommodation-related initiatives are not eligible.

Project Categories

Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals that fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • Local Tourism: Projects that directly support rural tourism or tourism-focused organisations.
  • Festivals, Events & Experiences: Initiatives that bring communities together and highlight rural culture.
  • Cultural Heritage & Preservation: Efforts to protect, restore or celebrate Ireland’s rich cultural and historical legacy.

How to Apply

Interested organisations can apply online here. The deadline for submissions is 23:59 on 30 June 2025.

Applications will be shortlisted based on eligibility and alignment with the fund’s goals. Selected applicants will then be invited to submit a more detailed proposal. Finalists will receive funding to help realise their projects and enhance the visitor experience in rural Ireland.
